Membership
WHY JOIN WUAXC
Membership allows you to compete for the club in the Midlands XC League, the Varsity Match against Coventry, and grants you eligibility to be selected for the prestigious Warwick BUCS teams for both cross country and athletics.
We offer a variety of timetabled sessions each week, including Track and Field at Westwood Track, Cross Country, Circuit / S&C training, as well as a 'Social Running' group.
Training aside, WUAXC offers a vibrant social scene for drinkers and non-drinkers, including our famous termly ‘PubJog’ which has been running for over 30 years. We also host big events each term such as Warwick Relays, Alumni Ball and also more relaxed events such as brunch and BBQs as well as Circling on Wednesday evenings in the Student Union.
We have Domestic and Foreign Tours, which are not only great for training but also create a wonderful WUAXC community and team spirit. Past locations for our Foreign Tour include Barcelona, Berlin, and Lisbon.
HOW TO JOIN
There are two ways to join WUAXC
Student Union membership
Direct membership
STUDENT UNION
(Warwick Sport Club Pass, the Sports Federation membership and the club joining fee)
SU membership allows members to compete for the club and to be acknowledged by the Student Union. This covers the cost of BUCS competition fees, whilst subsidising the cost of accommodation and transport for BUCS. It also gives you access to other on-campus sports clubs.
DIRECT
Direct membership offers a more affordable route to joining WUAXC. It is aimed at members who are unlikely to join other Sports Societies, eliminating the need to purchase either the Club Pass or Sports Federation Membership from the SU. Members who join us directly are equally entitled to our unrivalled coaching and social events, whilst still being eligible to represent the University in all non-BUCS competitions. Please note that many Sports Societies still require membership purchased via the Student Union: direct membership is intended for those who intend to join only WUAXC.
